Final Assignment:
The final assignment for this class is to submit a one-page reflection, in which you will discuss:
- How do you define "deconstruction" when it comes to History?
- How does what we read this semester about the American West compare/contrast with what you've learned from previous Duke history classes, high school/junior high/elementary school classes, community-based events, familial conversations, media/literature, and others?
- Do you think "deconstruction" is a helpful approach to use when trying to narrate the social power, or the lack there of, that historical agents in the American West had?
